Office Manager Kari Lavee
Kari Lavee was born and raised in Vermont, where she studied Business Management at a local community college. She took her career to San Diego, California, where she started her journey in sales for a Universal Wholesale Company. Kari brings 15+ years of HR Management and Office Management skills to her current role as Office Manager here at Grunts Move Junk and Moving. Kari lives in Swanton, Vermont, with her two children. She enjoys spending quality time with them, traveling, snowboarding, hiking, golfing, working out, watching her kids play sports, and more.
New Hampshire Operations Manager Eric Desautels
Eric Desautels was born and raised in Vermont. He has been working in the moving and storage industry for over 15 years, taking his first job with a local moving company when he was 14. In 2010, he started a moving company with his business partner and wife, Tori. Eric moved to New Hampshire in 2014 for a job opportunity for his wife.
At this time, Eric took a job managing a logistics and courier service and worked there for the next several years. In 2018, his son Jaxon was born. In April 2020, Eric joined the Grunts Move Junk team as Operations Manager in New Hampshire. Eric currently resides in Concord, NH, with his wife, son, dog, and two cats. In his free time, he enjoys riding ATVs, spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Owner Bart Newhouse
Bart Newhouse was born and raised in Vermont. He graduated from Colgate University in upstate New York with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After college, he spent a few years in New York City and Boston before moving to Los Angeles with his wife, Amy, to get his MBA at Pepperdine University. In 2004, Bart and Amy, with a new son in tow, moved back to Vermont to raise a family and operate his family’s furniture business.
After 14 years in retail, logistics, and customer service, Bart decided to get into the service business, and in 2018, he purchased Grunts Move Junk & Moving. Since then, he has worked to find great people to join the team and help build it to what it is today, with three locations in Vermont and one in New Hampshire. Bart lives in Stowe with his wife, Amy, and two almost-grown sons, Chace and Liam. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey, and being outdoors.
