  • Will moving companies pack for you?
    • Yes, we can help you pack your belongings. We ask that you buy the packing supplies that you would like us to use, or we can order them for you and add them to your final bill. Keep in mind, the additional time it takes for us to pack and box your belongings will be added to your final move total. Packing can add a few hours to the total.
  • What can you not move?
    • We can not move plants, perishable items or hazardous materials such as; acid, aerosols, ammunition, batteries, car batteries, charcoal, chemistry sets, cleaning fluid, fertilizer, fireworks, gasoline poisons, kerosene, lamp oil, lighter fluid, liquid bleach, loaded weapons, matches, motor oil, nail polish & remover, paints, paint thinner, pesticides, propane tanks, weed killer.

  • Can you transport cars?
    • Unfortunately Grunts Move Junk can not transport vehicles.
  • What type of insurance will I be offered?
    • We offer valuation of three different levels; Good (basic carrier liability-free), Better (partial valuation-$95) and Best (full valuation-$195). The good covers limited to 0.60 cents/lb of furniture damage and $25 for wall & floor coverage. The better covers $1.25/lb of furniture damage up to $10,000 and up to $150 for wall & floor coverage. The best covers $6/lb of furniture damage up to $40,000 and up to $600 for wall & floor coverage. We ask that you choose which level of valuation you would like, before the move takes place.
  • How much does it cost to move?
    • The cost of each move is determined by two factors; our hourly rate and port to port charges. We will ask you details as to how big your house is (1-bedroom, 3-bedroom, 5-bedroom etc.) this will give us an idea as to how many hours you may need to be scheduled for. Then, we use your current address and the address you are moving to, to get an estimate of mileage for our port to port charges. Port to port charges cover our crew driving from our home base in St. Albans, to your current home, over to your new home and then back to our home base.
  • How do I pay for my move?
    • You can pay by either cash, check or card. We accept all major credit cards.
  • How do I schedule my move?  
    • You can book online or give us a call at (844) 464-7868
  • Is the estimate the final cost?
    • Your estimate is obligated to change based on the amount of time the job takes. Your final cost may be more or less than the estimated price.
  • Do you provide moving blankets?
    • Yes, we will provide moving blankets for your items.
  • Can you store my items overnight?
    • Yes, we can store your items overnight for an additional fee.
  • Can I ride with the movers?
    • Due to liability issues, we ask that you do not ride with our movers.
  • Can you transport my pets?
    • No, unfortunately we cannot transport your animals.
  • Can I help with the move?
    • Yes, you can help with the move but we ask that you don’t step into the back of the moving truck or on the ramps for liability reasons.
  • How do I report a claim?
    • If you have any damaged items, we ask that you notify us immediately so we can investigate the claim. We have a 30 day claims policy. Starting on the day of your move, you have 30 days to file a claim if any of your items were damaged by the movers.   • Can you move fragile items?
    • We can, but most moving companies will strongly suggest that you move fragile items (mirrors, lamps, flat screen TV’s etc.) and items of exceptional value in your own personal vehicle. 
  • Do I have to tip the movers?
    • You are under no obligation to tip the movers! If you would like to leave a tip, that is completely up to you. Tips are always appreciated but never expected! If you choose to tip, you can either hand the tips over to the crew leader, give it to them each individually, or ask that it be put on your credit card and added to the final total. We do believe that one of the highest forms of flattery for a job well done, is a great review on our Facebook or Google page!
  • Will the movers show up even if there is bad weather?
    • Unless there are dangerous road conditions, the movers will arrive even if there is bad weather.
  • When should I schedule my move?
    • Move jobs typically fill up pretty fast during our busy season. To make sure that we have open availability, we would suggest calling a few weeks in advance. That way, it gives us a chance to reserve a time for you on our schedule. 
  • When is the best time to move? 
    • We would suggest any time other than summer, the end of the month or during end of the year holidays. These tend to be the busiest times for moving companies and truck rental companies.
  • What are items of extraordinary value?
    • In the moving industry, items having a value of more than $100 per pound are known as articles of extraordinary value.
  • What type of packing/unpacking services do you offer?
    • At the time of the move, you can choose to pack as much or as little as you want. We can pack the entire shipment, pack only a portion of your belongings, or you can pack everything yourself. Grunts Move Junk is here to help personalize your move process and help with what you need.
  • Do you bring moving boxes and packing supplies?
    • We only bring moving blankets. If you would like boxes and extra packing supplies, please notify us before your move and we will pick up them up and add the cost for the supplies to your final bill.
